Bitget indicates that in the third quarter of 2026, the total trading volume reached 1.86 trillion US dollars. With the increased activity in cryptocurrency derivatives, spot trading, and traditional financial products, the overall trading activities on the platform have grown.
In its third-quarter transparency report, the exchange stated that from July to September, the platform's monthly total trading volume increased by 21.2%, with supporting factors including the expansion of cross-asset functionality and enhanced liquidity.
Among them, the trading volume of encrypted derivatives reached $409.19 billion, a quarterly increase of 31.5%; spot trading increased by 65.7%; the trading volume of contracts for difference (CFD) reached $376.32 billion, an increase of 39.7%. Bitget stated that CFD has become its largest non-encrypted trading category.
These data reflect that the exchange is continuously expanding from digital assets to a broader range of fields through its Universal Exchange ( UEX ) model. This model integrates cryptocurrencies with traditional financial instruments into the same trading environment.
Cross-asset trading and liquidity expansion
One of the main product advancements this quarter is the launch of Bitget Cross - Asset Unified Account ( UTA, a cross-asset unified account).
The system includes over 370 eligible assets within the shared margin framework, among which are more than 100 tokenized U.S. stocks. Eligible assets can be used as collateral across different trading products, with a maximum collateral valuation conversion rate of up to 95%.
Bitget indicates that this upgrade is aimed at providing users with greater flexibility when allocating funds across different markets. The company has also extended its GetAgent Playbook, which is driven by AI, to tokenized U.S. stocks, launched an institutional pricing upgrade, and introduced a stablecoin product Cash Plus that offers yield generation capabilities.
Independent research cited in the report also indicates that the liquidity of the exchange has improved. TokenInsight rated Bitget as having the highest comprehensive depth in futures trading among 9 exchanges, within a 0.05% range of market prices, with a measured liquidity of $41.6 million.
CoinGecko also lists this exchange as one of the leading trading venues for spot liquidity in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
In terms of tokenized stocks, analysis by CryptoRank found that the simulated slippage on a $50,000 order by Bitget Reality was up to 58% lower than that of the next lowest comparable platform.
DeFiLlama reports that among the 5 markets it evaluated, the median bid-ask spread of Bitget was 0.83 basis points, and it had the deepest liquidity at the best price levels.
"We see more and more traders switching between crypto, stocks, and traditional assets, which is also the reason why we built Universal Exchange," said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. "The third quarter showed strong growth, but it also reminds us once again that as our business expands, protecting users must continue to be our top priority."
Bitget Security Measures After the Disclosure of September Incidents
The report also mentioned the security incident on September 24th and the subsequent measures taken in response to it. Bitget indicates that user account balances were not affected, and the company has hired Mandiant and SlowMist to support an independent investigation.
The exchange stated that as of September 30, the protection fund had been increased to over $300 million, ahead of the originally promised timeline. Other measures include the introduction of a circuit breaker mechanism, completion of the independent assessment for SlowMist, and an increase in the security budget.
According to the report, the reserve certification ratio of Bitget has also consistently remained above 110%.
These security updates are part of the company's efforts to strengthen its infrastructure as it expands its various asset trading activities.
Third-quarter data reflects that both the crypto products and traditional financial products of Bitget have seen growth; moreover, the new unified margin framework and liquidity measures demonstrate its efforts to facilitate the connection between these two markets through the UEX model.
