As NVIDIA's main competitor in the AI chip sector, AMD has provided revenue forecasts that exceed analysts' expectations, indicating that the demand for data center processors remains strong.
AMD stated in a statement on Tuesday that it expects revenue for the fourth quarter to be $17 billion, with a fluctuation of 3% up or down. In contrast, analysts' average expectation is $16.3 billion.
The latest outlook further indicates that the expenditures of AI are sustainable, which may help to alleviate investors' nervousness. In recent weeks, due to market concerns about a bubble in the AI infrastructure sector, the stock prices of chip manufacturers and other technology companies have suffered significant declines.
Under the leadership of CEO Su Zifeng, AMD has become one of the most important suppliers of processors and computing devices, providing support for a large number of emerging AI services.
AMD Chief Financial Officer Jean Hu stated in the declaration: "Our outlook for the fourth quarter reflects an acceleration in revenue and profit growth, which is attributed to the strong demand for our data center product portfolio."
After the financial report was released, the stock price of AMD rose by about 6% after the market closed. Despite recent fluctuations, the stock has still more than doubled in value so far this year. The company's market value reached $1 trillion in September, placing it among a handful of enterprises that have achieved such a scale.
