webAI announces the launch of the Mac version of the webAI application to the public for the first time. This application runs a new type of small-scale inference model on the user's own computer, allowing users to process private work content without sending files to the cloud and without the need to pay token. The company states that the application supports the creation of collaborative AI "characters" and can connect with tools such as Slack, DocuSign, Hugging Face, and Apple applications.

webAI applications allow anyone to build teams composed of AI experts, who can collaborate across platforms such as Slack, DocuSign, Hugging Face, and Apple apps. At the same time, users' files remain on their own Mac.

Austin, Texas, November 5, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Today, for the first time, we are releasing the Mac version of the webAI application to the public. This application runs a new type of small-scale inference model webAI on the user's own computer, allowing people to use AI for private work without having to send files to the cloud or pay token.

Most AI applications run in the cloud, and their usage is either billed according to token or is limited by package quotas. In addition, each document has to be sent to someone else's server. webAI, on the other hand, runs the model directly on the local machine of Mac. Users can work on sensitive client proposals or unfinished business plans, making repeated modifications as needed, without encountering any token restrictions.

webAI CEO and Co-founder David Stout stated: "With the webAI application, we make cloud AI an option. Why do you have to send a private document to an online service just to get some help? Your Mac can handle all that work. You can continue to control what you share and can ask follow-up questions as needed, without having to constantly monitor the token meter."

In this application, users can create “Personas (Role)”: that is, AI experts whose role positioning, knowledge, and tools are chosen by the users themselves. Multiple roles can work together on the same task. For example, a consultant can have one role extract customer requirements from project notes, another role draft a proposal, and a third role check if there are any omissions in the draft.

The connector can work in conjunction with applications that users are already using, including Slack, DocuSign, Hugging Face, and Apple applications. Users can control which content each role has access to and what actions they can perform. A role can extract the latest customer decisions from Slack, check which contracts in DocuSign have not yet been signed, and draft follow-up content for user approval. In this way, users can save time spent searching for context and copying details between different applications.

US tech stocks suffer heavy selling pressure; Musk, Jensen Huang, and four other billionaires see a $152.9 billion decline in wealth in a single day. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index tumbles about 12%, recording the second-largest one-day drop in history.
After the U.S. mid-term elections, U.S. stocks faced a large-scale sell-off on November 5th, with technology stocks and the AI hardware industry chain being the main sectors that declined. Reuters reported that investors re-evaluated the impact of the mid-term election results on AI data center construction, fearing that the Democratic Party's gain in Congress might slow down data center expansion. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell by about 12% on that day, recording the second-largest single-day decline in history; NVIDIA, AMD, Dell Technologies, and Tesla all saw significant declines. Forbes' real-time list of billionaires showed that the combined wealth of Elon Musk, Michael Dell, Jensen Huang, Larry Ellison, and Mark Zuckerberg decreased by $152.9 billion.

Jim Cramer says the selling of AI has not ended, but this is not another internet bubble burst
Jim Cramer of CNBC stated on Thursday that the sharp decline in artificial intelligence stocks may continue, but he believes this is not a collapse similar to the internet bubble of 2000. He mentioned that the expected slowdown in data center construction is dragging down the stock prices of related companies, and investors should retain sufficient cash to cope with the volatility.
