Harmony plans to shut down its mainnet and migrate ONE to Ethereum, transforming into AI video business
2026-09-06 22:47:20
According to CoinMeta, Harmony has announced a proposal to shut down its mainnet, which has been in operation since 2019. The native token ONE will be migrated to Ethereum, and the platform will shift to focus on AI video editing services. The team stated that national-level attackers and threats from AI smart contracts are the reasons for shutting down the network. As part of the migration plan, a snapshot will be taken of user wallets, staked commitments, validator rewards, smart contracts, and tokens within the centralized exchange. New ONE tokens will be airdropped to the same wallet addresses on Ethereum. Holders will not need to actively claim their staked commitments, and any unclaimed rewards will be automatically deposited into their respective governance funds. The total supply of ONE and the rate of new token issuance will remain unchanged, with the newly issued tokens to be used for the new business.
