2026-09-07 20:56:41
According to CoinMeta, DBS and Citibank have completed the first cross-border US dollar payment using the SWIFT blockchain, which involved tokenized deposits. This payment from Singapore to the United States was completed within minutes, rather than the usual two days. The digital ledger of SWIFT is not a public settlement chain, nor is it a stablecoin channel; instead, it is a licensed orchestration layer built on top of Hyperledger Besu, and it is compatible with the EVM architecture.
