CFTC Chairman submits motion to the court to dismiss the lawsuit filed by CME

According to CoinMeta, Wu said that on September 2, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) of the United States and its Chairperson filed a motion with the U.S. District Court for the Federal District of Columbia, requesting the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) against the approval of Bitcoin perpetual contracts on Kalshi by CFTC. CME previously argued that such products should be classified as swaps rather than futures and requested the revocation of the relevant decision by CFTC.
