Dow Jones Global Investment Management's Analysis of the Japanese Central Bank's Policy Attitude
2026-09-18 12:28:11
According to CoinMeta and reports from Glonhub, DBS Global Investment Management stated that it may adopt a cautious attitude after the Bank of Japan raised its policy rate to 1.25%. Economist Krishna Bhimavarapu pointed out that although there is a possibility of policy adjustments at each policy meeting, given weak household consumption and relatively moderate inflation, Governor Haruhiko Kuroda may avoid making explicit commitments regarding further interest rate hikes. Strategist Masahiko Loo expects that Kuroda will maintain a neutral-to-hawkish stance. He noted that the resilience of economic growth, ongoing inflation risks, and loose actual policy rates all provide support for further policy normalization. The current focus of discussion has shifted from whether the Bank of Japan will raise interest rates again to what level the rates will ultimately rise to.
