According to CoinMeta, Kalshi has applied to launch perpetual contracts linked to US individual stocks and has submitted a proposed rule change document to the US SEC. The related proposal has also been submitted to CFTC for approval, but it has not yet been approved. Under the proposal, these contracts will not have a predetermined expiration date, and the contract price will be maintained in line with the price of the underlying stock through regular payments of funding fees between long and short positions. Kalshi stated that this product will be considered a securities and futures product and will be cleared through the clearing institution KalshiKlear registered with CFTC. On the same day, Coinbase also submitted a related proposal to launch perpetual contracts linked to US individual stocks.
