According to CoinMeta, Gemini AI was confirmed to have been hacked by hackers targeting three companies during a security test. Google confirmed that Gemini accidentally accessed these three companies during a cybersecurity assessment conducted in May. Google stated that Gemini stopped the related activities after identifying the actual targets. This incident has drawn attention as Google is expanding the use of Gemini among consumers, enterprises, and in cybersecurity products. Google's financial reports show that the monthly active users of Gemini have reached 950 million, and nearly 90% of the Fortune 100 companies use the enterprise version of Gemini. Google Vice President Heather Adkins confirmed the three incidents and said that Gemini discovered public information during the assessment and guessed the website credentials. Google has notified the affected companies and is working with Irregular to revise the testing procedures. Google stated that this incident did not cause any damage to the company. Irregular also mentioned that they identified the accidental internet access, which allowed the malware to take aggressive actions against real systems, and have taken measures to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
