Beni questions the authenticity of Kalshi's encrypted transaction volume, claiming it serves as market incentives or provides conditions for brushing volume

According to CoinMeta, co-founder and former quantitative trader Beni posted a statement questioning the authenticity of the trading volume on the crypto prediction platform Kalshi, suggesting that the market-making incentives for perpetual contracts might be providing a means to inflate volumes. He pointed out that although the 24-hour trading volume on Kalshi ETH to PERP reached approximately $539 million, the open interest for unfilled contracts was only around $3.1 million. At the same time, he questioned the way in which the trading volume for these contracts was calculated and displayed. Icobeast, the person in charge of the crypto business at Kalshi, responded by stating that Beni had confused the crypto prediction market with perpetual contracts. While Kalshi did not offer rebates for perpetual contracts in the crypto prediction market, platforms such as CME, HyperLiquid, and Binance also employed similar mechanisms. He also denied that SCM (self-clearing members) were selected by Kalshi, claiming that any institution that met regulatory requirements could apply to become one. Beni subsequently stated that they had received new non-public information and would continue to disclose it after consulting with lawyers.
