CoinMeta data: The data shows that gold futures experienced the largest single-day decline since the global financial crisis in 2026, and this year is expected to be the most volatile year for gold since 1982. As Treasury yields rise, the selling pressure on gold has intensified. Kobeissi Letter pointed out that there have been 7 days so far this year with declines of more than 3.5%, which is the highest record since 2008 and twice that of 2025. Kobeissi also mentioned that 2026 is likely to become the most volatile year for gold. On Monday, spot gold fell by 4%, reaching its lowest point since August 5th. Analysts noted that this marks one of the rarest single-day declines in the past 20 years.
