He mentioned that his three sons who belong to Generation Z are often concerned that artificial intelligence might replace the professions they have chosen to pursue. According to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the unemployment rate for recent college graduates in June was 5.7%, while the unemployment rate for all workers was 4.1%. Economists at Stanford University reported that the employment rate for people aged 22 to 25 in professions that are highly impacted by AI is 19% lower than in professions that are not affected. Ford has also collaborated with Blackstone, Google, and Carhartt to establish the "American Technology Workers Alliance," which expects to need to fill about 1.7 million vacancies in technical jobs each year by 2035.
