OpenAI: Intensified AI competition against Moonshot, actions have been taken
2026-10-01 12:19:00
According to CoinMeta, OpenAI has filed allegations of data scraping against its Chinese competitor Moonshot AI, claiming that they launched a large-scale probing campaign in the past few weeks in an attempt to decipher the complex problem-solving capabilities of its model. OpenAI discovered that the number of coordinated activities related to Moonshot surged to 16,000 requests in just two days, involving over 4,000 users. The company stated that although this activity did not result in a database leak or exposure of user chat records, the attackers exploited the model's functionality to attempt to replicate the prohibited inference capabilities. In response to this trend, OpenAI has implemented account penalties, strengthened its infrastructure, suspended suspicious accounts, and expanded monitoring of its user community.
