The US Department of Defense plans to establish a four-star unmanned combat command center

According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Department of Defense is establishing a new combat command center focused on drones and autonomous systems. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the command center will be called the Autonomous Warfare Command Center ( Autowarcom ) and is scheduled to be officially established on October 1, 2027. The command center will be managed by four-star officers and will be responsible for monitoring the use of autonomous and robotic technologies in the armed forces. Hegseth stated that warfare is evolving faster than the systems designed to support it. According to market research, the military artificial intelligence market is expected to reach $101.02 billion by 2034, with the Asia-Pacific region being the fastest-growing market.
