CoinMeta data: Based on Stork, Polymarket has compiled on-chain settlement data. An analysis was conducted on approximately 2.9 million "retail" accounts filtered by the frequency of manual transactions. The results show that 69.2% of these accounts ended up below the break-even point, resulting in a total loss of 338.9 million US dollars. Among these accounts, 15.2% did not open new positions within 30 days after incurring losses, while this proportion was 6.1% for those that made profits. The report defines accounts that have traded in at least 5 different categories and whose trading activity is concentrated in a single theme (with over 60% of their trades in that theme) as "expert traders," accounting for 44.1% of all traders. Of these, sports-related accounts comprised 47% of the expert traders, yet only 25.1% of them achieved profits, which is the lowest proportion among all themes. Technology and science-related accounts had the highest profit rate at 41.2%, although the sample size for this category was smaller. The median holding size for profitable traders was 13.96 US dollars, which is higher than the 10 US dollars for loss-making traders. There was no clear relationship observed between the holding time and profitability of traders.
