According to CoinMeta, NEAR Intents has resumed services after encountering a security vulnerability worth 3.8 million US dollars. Co-founder Illia Polosukhin has pledged to compensate affected users in full. Polosukhin stated that the team temporarily suspended services after detecting abnormal activity and resumed NEAR Intents and NEAR.com on October 1st. The attack involved USDT on BSC; attackers exploited vulnerabilities between Omni's deposit and withdrawal infrastructure and NEAR Intents's smart contracts. Polosukhin also noted that NEAR Intents has monthly transaction and payment volumes exceeding 4 billion US dollars, calling this incident the first major attack on Intents. The team will conduct a thorough review and implement higher security standards in the future.
