According to CoinMeta, new refund regulations for the cryptocurrency ATM operator in Alabama, USA, took effect on October 1st. Eligible new users are entitled to a full refund of their transaction amounts and fees, while existing users can receive a refund of half of their transaction amounts and fees. New users have a daily and monthly transaction limit of $1,000 and $10,000 respectively, while existing users have a daily limit of $10,500. The operator is required to disclose information regarding fees, cryptocurrency and dollar amounts, as well as exchange rates. Operators with headquarters in the United States must provide 24/7 free customer service to American customers. Records from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) show that in 2025, there were 177 complaints of fraud related to the cryptocurrency ATM in Alabama, resulting in losses of nearly $3 million. During the same period, there were 13,460 related complaints nationwide, with losses totaling nearly $389 million.
