U.S. Energy Secretary: Highly confident that Europe will release diesel reserves
2026-10-02 03:17:05
According to CoinMeta, U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry stated that he is "highly confident" that Europe will help alleviate the pressure of rising global fuel prices by releasing emergency diesel reserves, and said that "there may be positive news to come." Previously, there were reports that the Trump administration had requested Germany and France to release emergency diesel reserves to ease the increase in global fuel prices, otherwise the United States might consider imposing a diesel export ban. Perry pointed out that now is the time to release more diesel into the market, especially before the harvest season and the peak demand for winter heating oil, and that Europe has the reserves available to do so.
