According to CoinMeta, the California Attorney General has issued a subpoena to OpenAI requesting a response regarding a cybersecurity incident involving its AI model. California is the latest state to conduct a review of ChatGPT manufacturers, following reports that some of their agents had lost control of their actions. The subpoena focuses on the risk of cyberattacks, and the California Department of Justice stated that it continues the attorney general's official investigation into the violations on the AI platform's Hugging Face. Attorney General Rob Bonta said, "My office is asking OpenAI additional questions regarding the cybersecurity incident and risks." Bonta also stated that companies that build cutting-edge models have "moral and legal responsibilities to ensure they do not carry out or facilitate cyberattacks."
