Galaxy Research: 69% of retail Polymarket traders are in the red
2026-10-02 13:22:33
CoinMeta data: Galaxy research has found that 69.2% of retail Polymarket accounts failed to break even in a study of 2.9 million wallets, resulting in an overall loss of $338.9 million. This analysis is based on the complete on-chain settlement records of Polymarket, and the data was compiled by the oracle network Stork, covering only international platforms. The study shows that the median loss for the remaining retail wallets is about $3, with larger losses occurring among the lower-end accounts; the bottom 1% of accounts lost at least $4,804 each. Galaxy also indicates that losses seem to cause traders to exit the market, as 15.2% of accounts that incurred losses within 30 days did not trade again, whereas only 6.1% of profitable accounts stopped trading as well.
