CoinMeta data: The UTXO supported by Tether is scheduled to be launched on the Bitcoin network this month. Viktor Ihnatiuk, co-founder of UTXO, stated that the company has obtained the commercial license to issue USDT on Bitcoin and plans to provide API, SDK, and cloud infrastructure for exchanges, wallets, and payment service providers. UTXO will be based on the RGB protocol and the Bitcoin UTXO model, keeping most of the transaction data off-chain, with a focus on supporting three types of applications: USDT private transfers, direct exchange between native BTC and USDT, as well as lending using native BTC without the need to encapsulate BTC onto other blockchains. USDT was first launched on the Bitcoin network through the Omni protocol in 2014, and subsequently Ethereum and Tron gradually became the main circulation networks. UTXO also plans to expand to Lightning Network after USDT goes live on the Bitcoin network.
