CoinMeta data: Data released by the European Central Bank ( ECB ) shows that companies within the EU do not rely as heavily on debt financing for investments in artificial intelligence ( AI ) as companies in the United States do. In contrast to U.S. companies that have borrowed trillions of dollars for AI infrastructure, EU companies are relatively more conservative in their financing approaches. The survey indicates that although EU companies spend far less on AI than their American counterparts, they have not used borrowing to narrow this gap. Meanwhile, the hidden debt held by the five major U.S. tech companies amounts to 1.65 trillion dollars, with 1.35 trillion dollars in debt on their balance sheets, reflecting the borrowing trend in the AI sector in the U.S.
