According to CoinMeta, with the rise of artificial intelligence, the creative industries in the United States have lost approximately 200,000 jobs. Urbanist Richard Florida, who coined the term "creative class," states that artificial intelligence is replacing "repetitive tasks." Microsoft's Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, Mustafa Suleiman, predicts that most professional jobs will be automated within 18 months. Ford's CEO, Jim Farley, suggests that artificial intelligence will replace half of white-collar jobs, while Anthropic's CEO, Dario Amodei, warns that AI could eliminate half of entry-level white-collar positions. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, three creative industries—film and audio recording, broadcasting and streaming media, and newspaper, magazine, and book publishing—lost a total of about 189,000 jobs. Nevertheless, the performing arts and spectator sports industries added approximately 67,000 jobs during the same period. Florida believes that artificial intelligence will make certain types of creative work more valuable.
