NEAR Intents Hacker returns $3.8 million in stolen funds, ending the standoff

According to CoinMeta, the hackers of NEAR Intents have returned all of the stolen $3.8 million after encrypted negotiations, ending the 48-hour deadline set the previous day due to cross-chain protocol service freezes. The protocol promised to compensate users in full before the return. This incident is one of the few hacker incidents in the crypto industry this year that has concluded with the return of funds. NEAR Intents stated on social media that it had suspended operations on Thursday due to the discovery of a vulnerability between its omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure and smart contracts. The platform initially estimated user losses to be around $3.8 million. This platform has processed over $30 billion in transactions across 35 blockchains. Although this hacker incident did not affect NEAR tokens and other applications, the price of NEAR tokens fell by about 6% after the incident.
