Altman feels "very uneasy" about people attempting to regard AI as a deity and believes this poses security risks. Meanwhile, competitor Anthropic is holding meetings with religious leaders to discuss the ethical issues of its AI model. Altman's comments may be an indirect response to Anthropic, which was founded by a former employee of OpenAI and claims to be more focused on security.
