According to CoinMeta, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved an immediate allocation of approximately $138 million to El Salvador as part of that country's $1.4 billion financing plan, despite some performance criteria not being met. The Executive Board completed the second and third reviews of El Salvador's 40-month Extended Fund arrangement. Although certain performance criteria, including the accumulation of Bitcoin, were not satisfied, an exemption was still granted based on strong corrective measures and renewed commitments. It is stated that in the future, the country will continue to reduce its involvement in Bitcoin-related activities and strengthen the regulation and governance of crypto assets.
