According to CoinMeta, a US credit rating firm, AI will first impact professional services, venture capital, and housing. In a report released on October 1st, the firm noted that professional services were at the top of the list due to charging clients by the hour. The report mentioned that KPMG, one of the four major accounting firms, is requiring its auditing firm Grant Thornton UK to share the cost savings AI. British documents show that audit fees have decreased from $416,000 to $357,000, a reduction of 14%. Additionally, Egan-Jones also mentioned that the stock price of IBM fell by 13% on February 23rd, the largest decline since 2000. The firm believes that venture capital will be affected next, as startups expand with less capital, leading to lower leverage and returns for venture capital companies. Egan-Jones also pointed out that unemployment may drag down US housing prices, especially for families relying on two incomes. US housing prices rose by 1.6% in the year ending June, below the average of 4.3% since 1987.
