OKX Enters the US Stock Tokenization Market, Launching 63 Companies for the First Time
2026-10-05 12:07:27
According to CoinMeta, OKX submitted an application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Sunday, planning to trade tokenized U.S. stocks, with initial listings for 63 companies that are listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). SEC granted a five-year exemption for on-chain trading 17 days ago, but the cap on trading volume and a 30-day issuer objection period may reduce the profits for the initial issuers. OKXICE LLC is a joint venture in collaboration with NYSE, the owner Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), and ICE has valued its investment in OKX at $25 billion. In September, tokenized stocks accounted for an average of 11% of trades on decentralized exchanges (DEX). Each trading venue has an exemption limit of 75 top stocks, which are typically components of the S&P 500 and Russell 1000 indices.
