Ethereum Glamsterdam conducts final repairs before a significant capacity increase
2026-10-06 12:50:44
CoinMeta data: Ethereum developers released a last-minute software update before the test on Tuesday (Glamsterdam), fixing an issue with settings that could have resulted in some validators producing blocks smaller than expected. (Glamsterdam) is the next major upgrade for Ethereum, which will first be activated on the test network (Sepolia). This test will increase the limit from about 60 million to 200 million for (Sepolia)'s (gas). A higher limit will provide more capacity for the network to process transactions and complex activities. The (Prysm) software version 7.2.1 was released on Monday, incorporating the 200-million setting. This test will determine whether validators will be able to continuously process blocks that exceed three times the default value prior to (Sepolia).
