CoinMeta data: The U.S. trade deficit expanded by 13.7% in August, reaching $105.6 billion, exceeding economists' forecast of $102 billion and setting a new high since March 2025. Imports grew by 4.3%, mainly driven by the boom in artificial intelligence construction. Although the deficit from the beginning of the year to date is $138.2 billion, which is nearly 20% lower than last year, U.S. companies are still actively importing equipment and technology. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate rose from 4.1% to 4.2%, and employment growth in September was only 29,000 jobs, far below the expected 90,000 jobs.
