According to CoinMeta, and as reported by the Financial Times, ExxonMobil is seeking to replicate the oil and gas prosperity of Guyana off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago. John Adair, the company's vice president of global exploration, revealed that ExxonMobil will decide where to drill the first well in Trinidad and Tobago by mid-2027. Adair stated that the development pace in Trinidad and Tobago is much faster than that in Guyana. ExxonMobil reached a production sharing agreement with the government of Trinidad and Tobago within seven months, which Adair described as "only half of the usual time required under normal circumstances." The report also mentions that BP, Shell, as well as the government of Trinidad and Tobago, are working on cross-border agreements with Venezuela's Caracas and the United States' Washington to supply Venezuela's natural gas to the country's liquefied natural gas industry.
