According to CoinMeta, Google has officially released nano banana 2.1, which is an upgraded version of nano banana 2. It continues to focus on high-efficiency image generation and editing models. The main improvements are in image quality, command adherence, text generation, and consistency across multiple rounds of roles. The new version supports 1k, 2k, and 4k image outputs, and can use up to 14 reference images at the same time, maintaining consistency for a maximum of 4 characters and 10 objects. Google has also enhanced mask editing, improved information graphic layout, image text, and ultra-wide format generation. The standard prices for 1k, 2k, and 4k image outputs using API are $0.0336, $0.0504, and $0.0756 respectively, which is about half of the price of nano banana 2. However, the input cost has increased from $0.50 per million token to $1.50, and the costs for text and thought generation have also risen from $3 to $7.50.
