CoinMeta data: As of October 2026, the top 200 assets in the crypto market have only risen by 5% since October 2021. Despite the annual new token supply decreasing from 26.5% to 3.3%, the market is still about 35% below its long-term trend. Analyst Jamie Coutts pointed out that despite significant changes in the way tokens are issued, the market value of the top 200 assets has hardly changed over the past five years. His analysis shows that the market has had an average annual growth of about 35% since 2017. Coutts stated that the increase in supply has diluted the value of existing holders, even though crypto adoption is growing. The annual growth rate of new supply has dropped to 3.3%, while payments to token holders have increased by five times. Recently, demand has begun to pick up, leading to what he describes as a "return era" for crypto.
