Tom Lee: Bitmine is about to stop purchasing ETH

CoinMeta data: The chairman of Bitmine, Tom Lee, stated at the Token2049 conference in Singapore that the company will stop purchasing Ethereum (ETH) once its holdings reach 5% of the circulating supply. Currently, Bitmine holds approximately 601,6414 ETH, which is about 4.9% of the circulating supply. Lee also mentioned that Bitmine purchased an additional $41 million worth of ETH last week. The company has been purchasing ETH every week since June 2025, but is currently facing unrealized losses of about $4.5 billion.
