According to CoinMeta, AMD CEO Lisa Su stated in Seoul that AMD is still considering a manufacturing partnership with Samsung Electronics to ensure a sufficient supply of memory for the next generation of AI accelerators. Su discussed a broader cooperation with Samsung's Vice Chairman Jung Yong-hee during a meeting in Seoul and mentioned AMD's multiple partners in South Korea. Su emphasized that the memory supply remains “very tight,” and AMD is working with customers to use memory more efficiently while urging suppliers to increase production as soon as possible. AMD has already identified Samsung as its preferred MI455X accelerator supplier and revealed during a “AMD Gamer Day” event that shipments of MI455 and Helios systems based on HBM4 memory have begun.
