Vaneck CEO: Nuclear power projects to restart or improve the economic viability of Bitcoin mining
2026-10-08 10:20:40
According to CoinMeta, Vaneck CEO Jan van Eck indicates that AI data centers and Bitcoin mining are highly dependent on cheap and stable electricity. If the United States further approves and restarts nuclear power projects, the additional low-cost power supply is expected to improve the economic viability of both types of operations and reduce the pressure on miners to sell BTC in order to pay for electricity costs. Vaneck Recent research shows that Bitcoin mining companies listed in the United States are continuously shifting some of their power resources to AI / HPC. With long-term computing power contracts providing more stable cash flows, selling newly mined BTC remains an important source of operating funds for miners when their incomes are under pressure this year. Therefore, lower power costs and diversification of AI incomes could theoretically reduce the reliance on coin sales for financing.
