Hong Kong Monetary Authority strengthens financial cooperation with Bank Negara Malaysia

According to CoinMeta, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Bank of Malaysia (BNM) announced the strengthening of bilateral financial cooperation, and will establish a joint working group at the policy level to promote compliant cross-border stablecoin applications between Hong Kong and Malaysia. Both sides will also enhance policy and regulatory exchanges in the areas of tokenization and digital currencies. Additionally, they plan to strengthen the connection between Hong Kong's Real-Time Gross Settlement System (RTGS) and Malaysia's Real-Time Gross Settlement System, as well as explore interconnection between Hong Kong's Central Depository and Clearing System for Debt Instruments (CMU) and Malaysia's Central Securities Depository and Clearing System (RENTAS).
