According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Treasury Department imposed fines of $200,000 on Amidi and LLC for failing to report an investment of approximately $92,478 held by their Chinese funds in a robotics company based in Shanghai. The amount of the fines exceeds twice the value of the investment, making it the first fine imposed under regulations that review the flow of U.S. funds into sensitive Chinese technology companies. On April 19, 2025, the Treasury Department stated that the offshore fund of Amidi supported Noematrix. The Treasury Department issued the fine notice in July and announced it on Wednesday. Noematrix is described as a Chinese “embodied artificial intelligence” company focused on the development of AI, robotics, and embodied intelligence.
