According to CoinMeta, as infrastructure costs continue to rise, AI is increasing its borrowing to build the necessary computing facilities. Despite a surge in sales, it remains uncertain whether these can cover the rising costs. According to Reuters, Anthropic achieved $4.6 billion in sales in 2025, but suffered an operating loss of $8.06 billion. Although its financial situation has improved, CNBC reports that Anthropic had annual revenue of $65 billion in July 2026, with expectations of reaching $100 billion by the end of the year. Meanwhile, OpenAI reported revenue of $6.7 billion in the second quarter, but an operating loss of $12.3 billion. It is expected that by September, its annual revenue will approach $70 billion. According to Goldman Sachs' estimates, as of August 2026, the total debt issued related to AI was approximately $500 billion, and JPMorgan Chase predicts that the total issuance will reach $4.1 trillion by 2030.
