CoinMeta data: According to the "2026 AI Agent Payment Status" report released by beincrypto, in a 35-day sample survey of X402 payments on the Base and Solana chains, a total of approximately 6.4 million transactions were recorded, with a total amount of only $119,900. Of these, 90.8% of the transaction amounts were less than $0.01. Solana accounted for 94.5% of the sample transactions, and the activity was highly concentrated; on August 26 alone, 145 addresses made about 1.28 million payments to 3 recipient addresses. The report points out that high transaction volumes do not equate to real business demand. Among the 19 AI products and workflows surveyed, 14 are still subject to human-set permissions, and none of them have the ability to set targets autonomously.
