Solana Core Development Team: Users do not need to transfer assets due to AI or quantum computing threats
2026-10-09 02:43:29
According to CoinMeta, Solana core development team member Anza developer Jacob Creech stated that, unlike some blockchains, Solana users do not need to urgently transfer their assets due to the threats of AI accelerated password cracking or quantum computing. He explained that Solana uses a ed25519 signature algorithm, where the signature key is derived from a secret seed through hashing operations. Even if elliptic curve cryptography is cracked in the future, attackers will not be able to directly recover the original seed from this. Theoretically, Solana could introduce a hash-based proof of seed ownership through a single network upgrade, allowing the original holders to verify their identity and migrate to a more secure signature scheme. Anza has already developed a related proof-of-concept prototype. Creech emphasized that Solana is still secure at present and has a technical approach to address future cryptographic threats.
