2026-10-09 08:52:52
According to CoinMeta, the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Frenh Hill, stated that he hopes to push for the approval of Clarity Act during the lame-duck session of Congress following the mid-term elections next month, in order to establish regulatory certainty in the fields of digital assets and blockchain technology. He has previously advocated for FIT21 Act and pointed out that the existing regulatory powers of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are not sufficient to replace legislative solutions. Last month, the vote on Clarity Act in the Senate resulted in 49 votes in favor and 50 votes against. Troutman Pepper Locke indicated that the government may adjust rule interpretations and enforcement priorities in the future.
