CoinMeta data: OpenAI and Anthropic incurred a total loss of over $80 billion last year. Meanwhile, three companies that provide power and cooling for their AI data centers are listed on the New York Stock Exchange and are experiencing booming business. GE Vernova ( GEV ) had orders exceeding $5 billion in the first half of 2026, Quanta Services ( PWR ) had a total backlog of $53.4 billion, and Vertiv ( VRT ) saw a 24% increase in quarterly sales. Analysts believe that any of these suppliers will benefit regardless of which AI developer emerges victorious. However, OpenAI recorded a loss of $38.5 billion in 2025, and Anthropic suffered a loss of nearly $42 billion, of which $34 billion was in non-cash expenses. Michael Barry hopes that the market will collapse before the AI giants go public, and Arthur Hayes, former CEO of BitMEX, expressed similar concerns. On Thursday, OpenAI's annualized revenue was $20 billion lower than earlier estimates, and the Nasdaq 100 index fell by more than 300 points within half an hour.
