According to CoinMeta, recent reports indicate that more than one-fifth of U.S. taxes are used to repay national debt interest, while the yield on 10-year Treasury bonds has approached its highest point in 24 years. According to estimates by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), as of the fiscal year ending September 30, net interest expenditures have exceeded $1.1 trillion, an increase of $115 billion or 11% from last year. Nevertheless, the recent surge in revenues has not yet been fully reflected in the federal budget. CBO predicts that the fiscal deficit in 2026 will reach $1.993 trillion, a 12% increase from last year.
