According to CoinMeta, U.S. legislators are questioning Google's acquisition of the internal data of the bankrupt Spirit Airlines for $10 million. More than 120 legislators hope to implement additional protective measures before the bankruptcy hearing scheduled for October 14th. In a letter dated October 8th, they pointed out that Google's acquisition proposal may involve approximately 100 million emails, 500 million Microsoft Teams messages, payroll and tax records, attendance cards, and employment contracts, among other documents, some of which may contain personal health information. Legislators wish to exclude employee information from the transaction as much as possible and to impose restrictions on the future use of this information. Google stated that the data will be cleaned before the acquisition and promised not to purchase any personal information.
