UK imposes new sanctions on Cryptomus, TokenSpot and payment platforms

According to CoinMeta, the UK imposed sanctions on three cryptocurrency exchanges on Thursday as part of a new round of financial measures against Russia. These sanctions include those targeting Xeltox Enterprises (the parent company of Cryptomus, Heleket, and Certa Payments), as well as the Kyrgyzstani-based TokenSpot. In addition, the UK sanctioned a payment platform that handles KG, which operates Vexpay and Tsunami Payments, as well as KG's director Ulan Bukabaev. The government stated that some of the sanctioned entities were involved in processing transactions related to the network A7 supported by Kremlin, which operates a ruble-pegged stablecoin A7A5 aimed at circumventing sanctions against Russia's financial sector. According to a statement from the UK government, A7 claimed to have transferred over $90 billion last year.
