According to CoinMeta, a user identified as CEO Mark Karpel reported that a Ledger Nano X hardware wallet he received from Malaysia was in good condition upon plastic packaging. However, upon opening it, they discovered a spy module hidden in the position of the device's screen padding, which was not easily noticeable even when the casing was opened. The user shared comparison photos of the original device's circuit board with the implanted module and noted that such implants have evolved from early manual soldered circuits to circuit boards that are more difficult to distinguish from the original hardware. Karpel is currently collecting photos of affected users' devices to confirm whether similar implantations exist and advises users to follow Ledger's official safety guidelines. This revelation is made by an individual, and the screenshots provided do not yet prove whether Ledger's official team has confirmed the functionality of this module or whether it is related to recent incidents of user fund losses involving Cryptobilis.
