According to CoinMeta, as reported by bernama, an individual in Perak State, Malaysia, is suspected of having had their cryptocurrency wallet hacked, resulting in a loss of approximately 12.47 million Ringgit (about 3.05 million US dollars). The Chief Police Officer of Perak State stated that the victim discovered on the afternoon of October 9th that their cryptocurrency assets had been transferred without authorization. Preliminary investigations indicate that the transactions were conducted through the blockchain network. The police are working in collaboration with the cryptocurrency department of the Commercial Crimes Investigation Department to trace the flow of funds and investigate the individuals involved. The case is currently being investigated under Section 420 of Malaysia's Criminal Code, which deals with fraud, although the specific method of the attack has not yet been disclosed.
