According to CoinMeta, the Finance Committee of the French National Assembly voted 31 to 3 against the revenue portion of the 2027 budget bill, resulting in the invalidation of amendments such as the exit tax on crypto assets and taxation on stablecoin exchanges. The relevant proposals will need to be resubmitted. The National Assembly will vote again on the budget revenue portion on October 20th and will then vote on the entire bill on November 17th. Previously passed amendments included including crypto asset exchanges for stablecoins within the taxable scope, expanding the application of the exit tax, and requiring self-hosted wallets with a value exceeding 100,000 euros at the end of the year to be declared; those who fail to do so may face a fine of up to 10,000 euros.
