PancakeSwap Proposes to Increase the Handling Fee Split for Liquidity Providers to 88%
2026-10-14 16:16:10
According to CoinMeta, PancakeSwap proposes to uniformly increase the fees for all 11 liquidity providers ( LP ) that support on-chain v3 and Infinity to 88%, reduce the protocol fees to 12%, and allocate this amount to the treasury, while keeping v2 unchanged. Based on estimates of trading volume in 2025, LP is expected to earn an additional approximately 62 million US dollars in fees. Traders will continue to bear the same fee rates, but the depth of liquidity is expected to increase by up to about 30%, and the impact on prices is expected to decrease by about 20%–25%. At the same time, the proposal plans to reduce the daily CAKE issuance volume from 22,500 to 7,000, a reduction of about 69%. Of these 7,000 coins issued daily, a portion will be allocated to the ecological growth fund Pantry. The total supply of CAKECAKE will be reduced by about 5.7 million coins per year. Since April 2025, when version 3.0 was implemented, the total supply has already decreased by 11.5%. The proposal aims to maintain a 20% reduction in supply by 2030. The implementation plan will begin in November 2026, within two weeks after the proposal is approved, and is expected to take about 3 months to complete. As of now, the proposal is still in the community discussion stage, and subsequent steps will involve submitting it to Snapshot for voting.
